The grand opening of Count Pashkovs mansion, a branch of Décor-1 PGW LLC, located on the right bank of the river Pyana in the village of Vetoshkino, Gaginsky district (Nizhniy Novgorod region) took place in May 2007. Restoration of this unique specimen of the 19th century country mansion, financed by the Company, included clearing the territory from debris and vegetation, reconstruction of the two-storey winter palace, building a museum on the arch rampart, and restoration of the estates unique park. The winter palace, converted into a hotel, offers spacious double rooms, a parlor, and a sitting-room with a fireplace. The building has all modern amenities. The first floor can be accessed by staircase — an exact replica of the staircase which existed in the main building before the fire. The building duplicates all architectural elements of the main building and fully recreates the 19th century atmosphere. A special place in the ensemble is occupied by the main building, located on a large stone terrace overlooking the landscaped park. A two-level formal garden is a convincing evidence of the architects professionalism. With its rich dendrological collection, layout and green landscaping, the Vetoshkino park represents an interesting specimen of the middle of the 19th century Russian landscaping art, undoubtedly one of the best in the Nizhniy Novgorod region. Five hundred year old oaks, preserved in the park, the counts pond, the Dungeon café (with the rooms styled as prison cells), the vicinity of the river Pyana, with the banks lined by the remnants of old lightning-struck trees — all this creates an unforgettable atmosphere for the visitors to Vetoshkino. The winter palace and the Dungeon exhibit numerous historical artifacts and pictures done in an unusual style. Another interesting building in the ensemble is a Russian Orthodox church, formerly a private church of the Pashkov family.
