Monument Unveiled at Décor-1 PGW
'Omnipresent Life', a monument by the prominent sculptor G.Pototsky was unveiled at Décor-1 Peshelansky Gypsum Works on August 28. During the ceremony, V.S.Lavrov announced that 'Omnipresent Life' (also known as 'Combating Stereotypes') was a gift to the Company from the International Kindness Academy in recognition of an invaluable contribution to the development of Russia's cultural capital and economy.

A Great Event
Report on the celebration of the 76th anniversary of Décor-1 PGW LLC and the Miner’s Day. Busy preparations for the celebration began in the morning of August 28 with the installation of stands, tents, makeshift retail outlets, attractions, and stage platforms. Company employees and guests flocked to Shaktior stadium, the venue of the day’s main festivities.

Victory as the Best Present
On August 28, Peshelansky Gypsum Works celebrated the Miner’s Day. All day long, Shaktior stadium hosted various exhibitions, lotteries and draw games. Of course, the festivities could not do without a musical performance.

Personnel Training for Gypsum Fiber Board Shop
To prepare for the future production of gypsum fiber boards, an onsite training was organized for 27 of the Company employees at the Tambov-based Tamak Co., which manufactures cement fiber boards using a similar technology. As of today, 7 technicians have completed training. Another 10 are currently doing the course.

GOST 125-79

Gypsum binders are classified into molding (fine-grain) plaster and gypsum (coarse-grain) plaster.

Fine-grain molding plasters G-6 BIII and G-7 BIII are used:

in molds for porcelain, faience ware and ceramics;
in the production of dry pack mortar and putty;
for medical purposes (in dentistry and orthopedics as a material for fillings and plaster bandages).

Coarse-grain gypsum plaster is used:

in construction works (plastering, sealing of joints and cracks);
for making various kinds of gypsum-based products.

CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL
GYPSUM BINDERS (MOLDING PLASTER) GOST 125-79

    1. Fineness of powder, with residue on #02 sieve: 1% max
    2. Setting time: begins not earlier than in 6 min, ends not later than in 30 minutes
    3. ПBreaking strength for beam samples aged 2 hours (size: 40×40×160 mm):
        G-6: bending resistance: 30 kg(f)/cm2 min, compression strength: 60 kg(f)/cm2 min
        G-7 bending resistance: 35 kg(f)cm2 min, compression strength: 70 kg(f)/cm2 min
    4. Volume expansion: 0.15% max
    5. Impurities insoluble in HCl: 1% max
    6. Water absorption: 30% min
    7. Specific surface: 10000 cm2 min
    8. Metallic contaminant content: 8 mg/kg max
    9. The product meets the prescribed radiation safety norms as conformed by sanitation and epidemiological certificate #52. NTs. 04.574.P.002027.12.04 as of December 6, 2004.

GYPSUM BINDERS (GYPSUM PLASTER) GOST 125-79

Grades G-5 АI, G-6 АI.
    1. Fineness of powder, with residue on #02 sieve: 2-23%
    2. Setting time: begins not earlier than in 2 min., ends not later than in 15 minutes
    3. Breaking strength for beam samples aged 2 hours (size: 40×40×160 mm):
        bending resistance: 25 kg(f)/cm2 min;
        compression strength: 50 kg(f)/cm2 min.
    4. The product meets the prescribed radiation safety norms as conformed by sanitation and epidemiological certificate #52. NTs. 04.574.P.002027.12.04 as of December 6, 2004.
