Feather-and-Slot Blocks Workshop

While the Company began production of gypsum blocks in 1970s, at that time they amounted to only a small percentage of the total Company’s output

In 2002, production was completely modernized. In 2004, a new hi-tech shop of feather-and-slot gypsums blocks for interior partitions with a rated production capacity of 600 K tons per year was commissioned. In 2007, additional presses were put into operation, which increased the annual output to 1 million square meters. The boards are made of gypsum plaster. Gypsum binder is delivered to the workshop by railway and loaded into the receiving hopper.

The gypsum slurry is made in a special sampling-action mixer. The necessary amount of gypsum is batched automatically by a weight sensor, dispensing of water is controlled by a water meter. The mixed gypsum slurry is poured into the cells of the molding machine.

The boards are removed from the trolley by an automatic grip and placed on the packing table, where they are subjected to quality control. After that, the boards are placed on a wooden pallet, strapped and packed into bundles, each containing 32 boards.

As the slurry hardens, a feather-forming mechanism is switched on to cut excess gypsum from the board. After curing, boards are removed and put in a trolley.

Product molding, handling and placement on the drying trolley can be performed both manually and in an automatic mode.

Drying is done in a double-zone tunnel drier consisting of 3 independent channels. After leaving the drier, the trolleys with boards are sent to the unloading post.

The full pallets are delivered to the finished product warehouse by fork-lifts for storage and delivery.
