Peshelansky Gypsum Works is living a rich, multifaceted life. Apart from the production of an outstanding-quality gypsum and the manufacture of unique gypsum-based products, Décor-1 PGW LLC is involved in large-scale social activities both within the Company and in the villages belonging to the Bebyaevo rural community of Arzamas district. The Company has ensured every condition for fruitful work. Occupational health and safety are at a high level. Strong social orientation of the Company can be seen by everyone who visits it. Not too many enterprises can boast their own sports stadium, football club, a fantastic zoo with exotic animals, beautiful flower-gardens and parks for employees recreation, a canteen offering savory yet low-price meals. The Company also supports such social amenities as Raritet drama theater, Akademiya childrens amateur theater, and Russias only underground museum of mining, geology and speleology. A lot of attention is being paid to commissioning of sports facilities, mountain ski routes, and provision of amenities to residential communities. A majority of the Company employees live in the communities of Bebyaevo rural administration. Décor-1 PGW management strongly believes that growth in productivity is in many respects conditional on ensuring that employees have access to decent housing, utility and public services, social and cultural amenities. Viktor S. Lavrov, Chairman of the Board of Founders Décor-1 PGW LLC and the driving force behind many interesting and practicable initiatives, is positive that favorable living and working conditions are a strong incentive for the Company employees. The situation is steadily improving for the benefit of all residents of the Bebyaevo rural community. Just a short while ago, paved roads were scarce, the poorly-lighted streets were littered with waste, and local children had nowhere to go. Today, waste is disposed of regularly, construction of paved roads and sidewalks is underway and public lighting is operational. Childrens playgrounds and sports facilities are mushrooming. A hockey pitch has been put into operation. A community development program, developed some time ago, is being successfully implemented. The Companys community and tourism development project received support from the Nizhniy Novgorod Governor. Says V. S. Lavrov: This subject has outgrown the local scale. Among other things, the project provides for construction of an ethnic village in the vicinity of the old mine, a sports complex in Bebyaevo, and a mountain ski track. And that list is far from being complete. The Company is also providing support for other communities in Gaginsky, Buturlinsky and Arzamas districts, where some of the local historical buildings are located (the mansions once belonging to count Pashkov, tsar Alexander I and baron de Jomini). |
