Company Facts

Peshelansky Gypsum Works was established in 1933 to enable exploitation of a major gypsum stone deposit which had no analogs in Russia or abroad.

A distinctive feature of the Company is that all its products are manufactured from gypsum quarried in the Company’s own mine located at Bebyaevo gypsum stone deposit noted for high (up to 95%) content of pure gypsum.

An eco-friendly construction material, gypsum is odorless, free from toxic components and can be used in any premises. This unique construction material, known from ancient times, has retained its importance until today. Unrivalled physical and technical properties of gypsum-based construction materials made them a popular choice among civil contractors. Formerly known as alabaster, gypsum is widely used all over the world during construction and repair work for interior finishing and decorative moldings on walls and ceilings.

The Company’s range of gypsum-based products comprises gypsum binders (molding plaster and gypsum plaster, used in the manufacture of dry pack mortars and putties, for making molds used in the manufacture of porcelain, faience and ceramic ware, and for making all kinds of gypsum-based products), gypsum-based mixes and gypsum blocks. A few years ago, the Company successfully branched out into the manufacture of standard and water-resistant feather-and-slot gypsum boards for use in interior partitions.

Feather-and-slot gypsum boards are a natural regulator of indoor humidity conditions. They are impervious to temperature fluctuations. Their high fire resistance ensures fire safety of interior partitions made of gypsum boards. Excellent acoustic insulation properties ensure a quiet environment inside the premises. High quality of gypsum board surfaces makes further plastering unnecessary and the boards are ready for any decorative finishing.

In 2002, Peshelansky Gypsum Works developed and patented a composite material containing gypsum binder and schungite — a natural coal-containing mineral, which became something of a legend for its health-improvement properties. Feather-and-slot gypsum boards with an admixture of schungite became the latest addition to the Company’s product range. Compared to other walling materials, schungite boards have a number of considerable advantages, in particular, they neutralize harmful electromagnetic and biogenic fields; have antistatic properties; suppress e-field radiation generated by mobile phones and computers; biocidal and antiseptic properties of schungite considerably simplify the task of preventing microbial contamination in a closed environment; and, finally, they have stress-relieving properties.

Schungite boards are recommended for use in interior partitions for various building categories. These boards made possible a commercial-scale production of the legendary ’black rooms’. Strong effect, the possibility of using already existing premises, quick assembly, reasonable price and availability of material all make the ’black rooms’ affordable to many Russians, at home or at work, in pre-school institutions, hospitals, health resorts, sports centers... We have such a room at our Company. A night spent in the ’black room’ would be enough to relieve you from stress, depression and nightmares. The Company’s products are widely used in the construction, medical, faience and ceramic ware industry. Over the years on the market, the Company has developed stable partner relationship with many clients in Russia and far beyond. Continuous improvement, ramping up of production capacity and earnest commitment of the entire workforce are all aiming to achieve one goal — the fullest satisfaction of the construction sector’s needs in quality construction materials.
